Last Week of Fundamentals

Hard to believe this class is coming to an end already. Times flies when you're having fun lol.  I really enjoyed my clincials this week.  Everything went smoothly and I got everything done rather quickly.  Sandy helped :)...I have been studying for the final for three weeks.  I hope that I do good and good luck to everyone else!

Finals Quickly Approaching

Hard to believe this next week will be our last full week of this 8 weeks.  I have been studying quite a lot for the final.  I enjoyed my third day of clinicals, and I feel like I am actually starting to get lots of hands on experience, with things I have learned in lab as well as with things I have not learned yet.  I feel I need to get the Nursing jargon down better though.  I am bracing myself for the next 8 weeks.

Hectic Week

Well we have finished another week.  Clinicals went great, and now I am finishing up researching for our project.  Life outside of school was kind of hectic this week, and I am glad it is over.   Spent my week doing objectives and research for our culture project.  Ready for another busy week!

Another week down

With midterms this past week, it was a long one.  I am exhausted.  I went to the FSU game and had a needed break, spent some time with friends, and studied the rest of the weekend.  It is now over and I am wondering where it went.  I think that I am now less stressed now that I know how that tests are going to be, even though I did not do as well as I would have liked on this past one.

Midterms

I am studying for midterms and am very nervous about this test.  It is not as simple as true or false and right and wrong.  I hope that I am adequately preparing myself for the exam.

Nursing

Well somehow a week disappeared and I forgot to blog last week so I am doing an extra one now.  Studying and life keep me busy!

First Blog

I have wanted to be in the medical field since I can remember being able to talk as a young child.  Of course, growing up I wanted to be a doctor, and I believe through hard work that is still possible.  I am a very caring person and have always helped people where and when I can.  I believe this quality will be vital to being a successful nurse in any field.  Having great nurses the many times I have been in the hospital in my life also helped confirm that I want to work in the medical field.
It has never been a question what area of medicine I want to work in, which is pediatrics.  I love children and was a nanny for many years.  This furthered my love for children.  After finishing the RN program, I would like to further my education.  I plan on obtaining my Nurse Practitioner License and continue working with children.  I do think I would be great in many areas, but children are my passion.
A nurse is a health-care professional that tends to the needs of patients.  A nurse also administers medicines, makes beds, baths and feeds patients, as well as many other duties.  This job is necessary to help make a patient and their family as comfortable as possible during a stressful time.  It also requires taking preventative measures to make sure no further injuries or illnesses happen to a patient.  A nurse is a caregiver to a patient in need.
